Very recently, the City has placed two new stop signs along Heekin Ave, and added a caution to the existing one on Shattuc Ave. To those of us who use Heekin regularly, it's easy to blow right through them. Please be aware!
The Community Council and individual residents have worked for quite a few years to effect "streetcalming" on Heekin. This is the City's DOTE response and we hope that, with enforcement, it will help to stem the tide of speeding and distracted driving on a street with dangerous, blind curves. All three signs are at the conjunction of Heekin, Le Blond, and Shattuc Aves.
